Candidates should have completed fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology. Responsibilities The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at this prestigious medical school is seeking a full-time academic BC/BE neonatologist at an Associate or Assistant Professor level to join a team of 10 neonatologists, 3 Hospitalists and 23 nurse practitioners. This position is responsible for providing clinical care, education, and research. This position may also be responsible for starting a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship (anticipated to start in 2025). The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit a is a level-3 unit (95-bed unit with an average daily census of 75) that offers all pediatric subspecialties, including surgeries (no cardiac surgery, no ECMO), neurosurgery, ENT, and orthopedics. Our team receives an average of 180 transports per year from all along the Gulf Coast and provides coverage to two other level-1 nurseries. The NICU is proud of its outcome of the periviable preterm infants (has a dedicated Small Baby Unit for extremely premature infants). The program is part of the Vermont Oxford Network and in the process of joining the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium. Plenty of opportunities in research (clinical, global health, and basic science), education, and quality improvement projects are available for faculty development. The neonatology team works closely with Obstetrics/MFM in counseling and following the care of mothers with complex fetal anomalies and mothers in drug rehabilitation programs through birth. Bench Research projects are available as part of the Research in Organogenesis program, a collaborative research program between the Division of Neonatology and the Center for Lung Biology, nationally recognized as a leading center for Pulmonary Hypertension and Oxidant Injury studies. The Department of Internal Medicine at this prestigious medical school is seeking a full-time board-certified Infectious Disease (ID) Physician to join our practice. This provider will support initiatives to expand services to patients and collaboratively support the programs and activities conducted by the ID division. Applicants with credentials to support the rank of assistant to full professor will be considered. The Division of Infectious Disease focuses on adult care and is involved in population and public health, supporting several local Federally Qualified Health Centers. Our current practice is comprised of five ID physicians and two advanced practice providers. In addition, our ID division operates a Ryan White HIV program. This program has growth opportunities for individuals who seek to further build on the clinical, public health, training and research successes of the division. The division aspires to begin an Infectious Disease fellowship as part of the strategic goals to further expand access to ID care on the Gulf Coast. We seek applicants with an understanding of the medical, educational, clinical, and administrative issues for Internal Medicine residents and 1st-4th year medical students at a small medical school. Providers will assist with inpatient ID care management (both independently and with residents) and outpatient clinical activity. Providers may be asked to assist with inpatient general internal medicine teaching services at our hospital as well. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits. Shift coverage 7 on/7off, 5 on/9 off to include at least one weekend a month for a total of 156 shifts annually. A “shift” is twenty-four hours in length consisting of eight hours of clinical services onsite and sixteen hours of unrestricted call coverage. As a Newborn Pediatric Hospitalist, you will complete initial assessments/evaluations of newborn patients while providing ongoing monitoring of patients’ medical conditions and providing appropriate treatment. Order prescription medications and diagnostic procedures while authorizing and coordinating all specialty/ancillary services. Maintaining a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurses, rehab staff and other team members is expected. The Department of Internal Medicine, with this prestigious medical school on the Gulf Coast is seeking a full-time board eligible/board certified Pulmonary/Critical Care provider to join the division of Pulmonary at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Responsibilities will include teaching students, house staff and fellows, patient care (outpatient and inpatient to include MICU care), performance of pulmonary related procedures, and basic and/or clinical research. Certification in Sleep Medicine is not required but is welcomed with opportunity to direct this service line in the future. The chosen candidate will join our division comprised of 7 faculty members and 6 pulmonary fellows. The Department of Pathology is currently recruiting for a full time team- oriented faculty member with board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology to participate in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology. The opening is for an assistant/associate/ full professor on a clinician track. Subspecialty in GI or breast pathology is desired, but not required. The Division of Anatomic Pathology handles about 17,000 surgical and 4,500 cytology cases a year and it is expanding rapidly. Molecular/ next generation sequencing, cytogenetics, immunohistochemistry, FISH, and electron microscopy laboratories are part of the sophisticated menu of tests available.
